I felt uncomfortable with the word "slut" and wasn't able to bring myself or my daughters to participate in the event in my home city because of the way it made me feel. Your apology has helped me to realize I was not alone and now I understand that the reclamation of the word was not a part of all of the Slutwalk events - not something I understood before. It is regrettable indeed that not everyone is willing to take ownership of their opinions, that you have not been able to have the communication you would like to have with other organizers and that some events were hijacked. I, too, hope that work continues "to fight blaming women for being sexually assaulted." Thank you for putting this out there, Jake.
